Boards of Directors in higher education are often populated with many generous alumni who have wonderful memories of their campus experience.
Board members must do what is best for today and tomorrow – listen and appreciate the current student and faculty experience and support the administration on an enlightened approach to equity, diversity, and inclusion. It is time to be a Board that lets go of traditions that cause a bad experience for others.
You protect your institution by facing these truths, not by closing ranks.
