I’ve always been so proud of my twin who spent his working years as an optometrist by day and musician by night. And recently, I learned of a Richmond cardiologist who is stage acting in a local production, cast as… wait for it… a doctor.
In an interview with Richmond Biz Sense, Dr. Charles Joyner said, “Many of us, especially physicians – scientific-types, engineer-types, analytical-types – can have a creative side that they don’t get a chance to express, and I think I’ve learned more and more how important it is to use that side of my brain.”
It’s encouragement to use more of our brain and to find a way to augment our work with a different creativity. Each endeavor likely informs the other for a more well-rounded life perspective.
