Recently, CEO clients have been asking for referrals to very specialized consultants in areas critical to the growth of their organizations. I think this will be a trend for the work of the future.
Warby Parker CEO Neil Blumenthal says many CEOs are now “armchair epidemiologists.” They analyze the root of a challenge and then bring in true experts to solve that specific difficulty. Additionally, Warby Parker demonstrates a persistence in looking to other institutions that have previously tackled particular problems and then applying those organizations’ already-gained wisdom.
Uncertainty and the need for speed and flexibility are shifting us away from the DIY mentality.
