Toward the end of each year, I give clients a T-chart to complete, one column titled “In” and the other “Out”. Clients list activities and relationships that they wish to remain or add in the new year, and what they’d like to remove.
I just read an interview with 99-year-old Norman Lear, creator/producer/writer of more than 100 remarkable TV shows including All in the Family, Sanford and Sons, and the 2021 Netflix version of Good Times. Of course, he was asked the key to his longevity and consistent high level of engagement. Lear said it’s about recognizing what’s over and knowing what’s next.
In and Out… Over and Next. I like his terminology better.
